I'm going to celebrate this thing and I was wondering. Can you also give me some examples of Greek food (not including Greek Salad)?

Greek, definitely. Try Spanacopita. Meat pies are good too. There use to be a great place called Molfetas. Food that tastes astronomically better than it looks!

italian is my fav but here is some greek recipes
Arnaki Fricassee
Lamb with Vegetables
Ingredients:
2 Tablespoon Dill
3 Whole Egg
2 Tablespoon Flour
3-4 Whole Green Onions (Finely Chopped)
2.20 lb Lamb (Cut into Portions)
2 Medium Lemons (Juiced)
3 Head Lettuce (Coarsley Cut)
4-6 oz Olive Oil
1-2 Pinch Pepper (To Taste)
2-3 Pinch Salt (To Taste)
Directions:
Brown the onions in the oil.
Lightly flour the lamb portions and add to the onions.
Add the salt, pepper and a few cups of water and simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
Place the lettuce on one side of the pan and sprinkle everything with the finely chopped dill.
Simmer for another 20 minutes.
Separate the egg white and put them and the yolks in separate bowls.
Beat the egg whites and yolks well, and then mix together.
Add the lemon juice slowly, then take a little of the stock and beat it in a little at a time.
Pour the sauce over the lamb and vegetables, while shaking the pan gently.
Serve immediately
Makaronopitta
Spaghetti pie
Ingredients:
4-5 Tablespoon Butter
4 Whole Egg (Beaten)
2 Cup Feta Cheese (Grated)
6-8 Sheets Fyllo Pastry (Or Home-made)
5 oz Kefalotiri (Grated)
1-2 Pinch Pepper (To Taste)
2-3 Pinch Salt (To Taste)
1.10 lb Spaghetti (Thick)
Directions:
Boil the spaghetti as directed.
Drain and place in a large bowl and add the grated cheeses, the eggs, a little butter , salt and pepper.
In a baking dish, layer the pastry sheets, brushing each layer with a little butter.
Add the spaghetti mixture on top and layer with the remaining pastry, again brushing each layer with a little butter.
Brush the top layer with butter and score with a sharp knife into individual sized portions.
Bake at 375F until it becomes golden brown
Kalamarakia Yemista
Stuffed Squid
Ingredients:
1-2 Pinch Mint (Finely Chopped)
4-6 oz Olive Oil
2 Medium Onion (Sliced)
1 Tablespoon Parsley
1-2 Pinch Pepper (To Taste)
1 3/4 Cup Rice
2-3 Pinch Salt (To Taste)
2.20 lb Squid
2 Small Tomatoes (Finely Chopped)
Directions:
Wash the squid very well and remove the bone and ink bag.
Fry the onions in the oil until transparent.
Add the tomatoes, mint, parsely, and 2 cups of water.
When it comes to a boil, add the rice and continue to cook for another 15 minutes.
Stuff the squid with the mixture and place in an oiled baking dish.
Add a little tomato juice and bake in a medium oven for about 35 minutes
Kolokithakia Yemista
Stuffed Zucchini
Ingredients:
1/2 lb Beef (Minced)
1 Bunch Dill (Finely Chopped)
2 Whole Egg
2 Whole Lemons (Juiced)
1 Pinch Mint (To Taste)
3/4 Cup Olive Oil
2 Medium Onion (Finely Chopped)
1 Bunch Parsley (Finely Chopped)
1-2 Pinch Pepper (To Taste)
3/4 Cup Rice
2-3 Pinch Salt (To Taste)
12 Small Zucchini
Directions:
Wash the zucchini, carefully remove the inside, and cut the pulp finely.
In some oil, fry together the pulp, minced beef, onion, rice, and seasonings.
When rice starts to get tender, remove pan from heat and stuff the zucchini with the mixture.
Place the zucchini in a baking dish with 2-3 cups of water and cook on low heat for approx. 40 minutes.
In a soup bowl, beat the eggs and slowly add the lemon juice, continuing to beat with a fork.
While beating, slowly add the juice from the baking dish.
Pour the sauce over the stuffed zucchini and serve

a gyro, hummas, baklava –Ummmmm. My neighbor is greek and boy can she cook. My girlfriend is Italian and is also a wonderful cook. I guess if a friend makes you dinner thats made with love its gonna be great. I can't choose. Yikes

hi! i'm italian and of courve i vote for italian food, but, i must say that greek is good too! more…most of recepies of south italy are really similar to greek recepies (are 2 countries very close..)
ex: meatballs are both tipycal italian and greek, italian salad is like greek salad…
but i'd say italian because is richiest, more variety of food…
