I have naturally curly hair and I only straighten it every once and a while (its too much work, my hair is way to thick) and whenever I do, it just totally fries! Its frizzy! and it looks like I just burnt it! How do I make it look soft and smooth? Any secrets or product suggeuestions would be excellent!

i had the SAME problem. I never brush my hair dry, only after i condition it in the shower. I put a store bought aussie land mousse extra hold in it after i towel dry it, and i scrunch my hair with my hands to get pretty curls. I leave it dry then go to bed. I wake up and it’s perfect! I think that if you color it( i used to highlight mine) just dye it one color. I let mine healthy up and it’s been only 4 months and my hiar has made a huge differnece. Request dyes with ;no ammonia if you do color your hair. Although the S factor products are rather pricey , all of them work great! you can purchase these at your local salon. have fun!

    same here!

for my hair not being so thick i use a type "any type" of shampoo that is to make hair straight. Use a lot of conditioner..the type of conditioner to use is one that reduces split ends. after taking a shower….add just a little bit of extra conditioner to make it EASY to detangle. And then add some "biosilk" they sell it at some hair salons…you'll have to search for it. i get mine from the hair salon at JC penny. After this, blow dry your hair while brushing it at the same time, then lately, straighten your hair.

what i do to keep them shiny and soft.once a week i do a hair treatment to my hair(loreal brand) while you are in the shower you leave in your hair 3 minutes. Theres a big change.

And then i use the paul mitchell shiny super skinny serum i put it on my hair not dried yet. But you have to use a good brand flat iron for your hair if not it will burn your hair. do not use conair or all those brand in the pharmacy. then your hair should be better.

go to your salon and ask for a reconditioner, conditioning treatment, or whatever treatment they do for dry, damaged hair. most salons have some sort of treatment that can help strengthen the hair and repair some of the damage. also, try to get your hands on k-pak by joico. its a great protein reconstructor. sally’s even has a generic brand of it that is way cheaper and easier to find. on top of those, try to get even just a quarter of an inch cut from the ends every 4-6 weeks to keep the ends from looking all frizzy.

    i hope this helps!!

use a heat protectant, both when blow drying and straightening. i’ve found that beyond the zone “turn up the heat” straightening protectant works wonders. i use a leave in conditioner as well, bioterra moisturizing leave in is my favorite. trimming split ends regularly also makes a HUGE difference in the appearance of your hair.

well…im a guy but i have chin-long hair, its pretty staright and soft…i never really straightened it but lotsa girls at school had asked me if i straighten it but i just tell them its natural lol… but my secret is that i use lots of Dove conditioner and leave it on for 5 minutes or so when i take a shower. i dont blow dry it coz it damages it, i just let it dry, hell i dont even comb it just fix it with my fingers lol… good luck hope this helps :]

make sure you use thermal protection when u use any heat to your hair.
really, damaged hair cannot be repaired. sucks but its true.

things i suggest is to not wash your hair daily.anytime u do,put a ton of cholesterol in your hair while it’s wet and let it moisturize your hair for about ten miuntes then rinse.

use anti frizz products as well.

    use weekly deep oil treatments.
