Why do men stand around with a bunch of guys at barbecues, drink beer and stare at fire?

It’s too cold now for barbecues, but I went to a lot of barbecues this summer and noticed that guys always do that. Why do they like to stare at meat cooking?

I have never had a beer. There’s not much else to look at if you’re talking to the cook.

haha that makes me laugh. i think its just them being simple, and observing the meat, they wer prbably hungry, and thinking of the day.

Why do women bittch and bittch about other women and spend 2 hours standing looking at clthes in shops?

Why do women often go to the toilet in a group?

Men often feel more secure around other men in the mistaken belief that all men are the same so that by simply being a “man” one will not make a social mistake where, when they are around women, they feel almost guaranteed that they will make repeated social blunders which will be pointed out to them in the most embarrassing manner possible by both the women and the men who witness the same.

    Be well.

Wow, I honestly have no idea..

I personally find this practice to be outdated. We don’t think someone or something will take our food, so it is a moot point to stand around and “guard” our “spoils of war”. Male bonding can be done playing cards or fishing.

When I am in this circumstance I generally talk to the girls who are at the barbecues because their boys are ignoring them. I

It’s just how it is. I usually do the grilling, so I have to be there. We all gather around (men) talk about work, sports, future projects, fishing, and hunting. Even the dog knows where the action is.

I don't know why they drink beer, I don't, but they stare at the fire so they won't be accused of looking at another man's wife.
Actually some men are entertained by the different shapes made by the flames.

Probably for the same reason women drink tea and gossip.

I saw an experiment on that, apparently he who controls the barbecue is the alpha and if one of the subordinates picks up a cooking utensil the alpha will get uncomfortable and try to manoeuvre it back into his possession to reassert his dominance.

Here’s my theory, women stare at their creations (babies) and we stare at ours.
